"If that's all true, than it is worse than the Blatter era"

FIFA President Gianni Infantino is causing a stir with his plans on the sale of all rights of the World Football Association. Alexandra Wrage is not surprised that FIFA's structures are conducive to such misconduct, said the anti-corruption expert in the Dlf "Sportgespräch". In its current form, FIFA's problems cannot be solved.

Alexandra Wrage herself worked for FIFA's independent Governance Committee until 2013, when she recognized that no progress was being made and resigned. At that time, under President Sepp Blatter, the reform proposals of her committee remained largely unheard. The founder and president of the anti-corruption organisation TRACE International believes that FIFA can only be reformed through external control.
