Es war im Jahr 2008, als ich einen Freund, der mit arabischen Musikern ein Projekt vorbereitete, nach Damaskus begleitete. 2008. Das war drei Jahre, bevor es dort losging. Und der Satz, den ich damals am häufigsten hörte, überall auf der Straße, war: "Welcome to Syria!" Willkommen in Syrien. Klingt heute bitter. Klar. Aber das sagten irgendwie alle ... Where do you come from? Germany. Hey! Welcome to Syria! Für sie ist es eine Selbstverständlichkeit, dass man den Fremden erst mal willkommen heißt. Und heute sind sie da... Probieren wir's mal:
